Step 1: Position the bolts on the hinge circled in yellow (pictured below) to match the position you see in the picture (your lid should then be set high enough to close all of the way)

Step 2: Place a towel, blanket, or even pieces of cardboard that are about 1 inch thick between the fiberglass lid and the base. (Position circled in Red, pictured below)

Step 3: Close the lid so that it rests on your chosen soft object. (This will hold the space that is needed for the lid to be in the correct position as you re-adjust the bolts and hinge).

Step 4: Tighten the bolts very tight.

Step 5: Install the Hydraulic arms

Step 6: Close the lid (Lid will close fully without resting on the base)
