HA! We have a real reason. Bluetooth causes interference. Maybe you don’t believe it – maybe we can’t see it, but it’s true. There are too many studies showing impact on water molecules, sleep patterns, and thinking states. Ask any leading biohacker about it and they’ll tell you they don’t wear ear buds.

That said, the sound quality is also better with cabled headphones. And, it prevents the headphones from walking away in the market. We can easily replace your headphones – just let us know if you need another pair or just want backup. You cannot use your own headphones in the Somadome. 

Once we launch the app, and the app can override the dome’s local UX,you can use your own headphones. We can’t control anyone’s choice here – but we strongly encourage considering the multitude of incredibly powerful quality headphones, with audio cables, OG style!
